Jackson Hole Weekly Weather Tips

"April showers bring May flowers," and that adage will hold true this week with Mother Nature threatening a chance of rain/snow showers through Friday, but the temperatures will hold in the high 50s before inching higher over the mostly sunny weekend.
The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is a must see piece of Jackson Hole nightlife

Instead of relying on the default weather app on your smartphone, we recommend using our local resource, mountainweather.com. Every morning year-round, Jackson Hole meteorologist Jim Woodmencey interprets the local weather patterns to create a forecast, offering an informed sense of what to expect so you can plan and dress accordingly.

We lovingly pair this weekly Jackson Hole Weather Guide with a few favorite Jackson Hole Calendar of Events to make your planning a breeze.

THIS WEEKEND:  The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar will present some musical goodness on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday evening, Wyoming native Chancey Williams makes his debut at the legendary Cowboy Bar. A rodeo athlete turned country music star, Williams will play at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $35. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, the 6-piece Jackson band Outta Shorts will throw down jazz, rock, funk, and era-colliding covers into the perfect blend. Visit cowboybarJH.com for tickets and information.

DON'T MISS: Film Screenings and Conversation: “Sacred Stoke: Native Athlete Stories” at Jackson Hole High School's Theater at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th. Professional Indigenous athletes Connor Ryan (Lakota) and Ellen Bradley (Tlingit) will present film shorts and explore the deep connection between Native wisdom and the natural world. It will be presented for free by Central Wyoming College and Native American Jump Start.

Quite a few businesses are closed for the off-season, including the Virginian Saloon. The Virg will re-open for karaoke on May 7th, but first, the historic bar and music venue will throw a disco cowboy party on May 1st to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

Traveler Tip: Uniquely explore Grand Teton National Park during April. A 14-mile section of Teton Park Road between the Taggart Lake trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge is open for non-motorized recreation. This road is car-free, allowing visitors to walk, run, bike, skate, and rollerblade. The road will re-open to vehicles on May 1, weather permitting.
