THIS WEEKEND: The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar will present some musical goodness on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday evening, Wyoming native Chancey Williams makes his debut at the legendary Cowboy Bar. A rodeo athlete turned country music star, Williams will play at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $35. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, the 6-piece Jackson band Outta Shorts will throw down jazz, rock, funk, and era-colliding covers into the perfect blend. DON'T MISS: Film Screenings and Conversation: “Sacred Stoke: Native Athlete Stories” at Jackson Hole High School's Theater at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th. Professional Indigenous athletes Connor Ryan (Lakota) and Ellen Bradley (Tlingit) will present film shorts and explore the deep connection between Native wisdom and the natural world. It will be presented for free by Central Wyoming College and Native American Jump Start.
Quite a few businesses are closed for the off-season, including the Virginian Saloon. The Virg will re-open for karaoke on May 7th, but first, the historic bar and music venue will throw a disco cowboy party on May 1st to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Traveler Tip: Uniquely explore Grand Teton National Park during April. A 14-mile section of Teton Park Road between the Taggart Lake trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge is open for non-motorized recreation. This road is car-free, allowing visitors to walk, run, bike, skate, and rollerblade. The road will re-open to vehicles on May 1, weather permitting.
